Rae Ellen Howard Keppelmann lost her long fight with cancer on October 26th, 2009. She was born in Denver, Colorado on January 9th, 1925, to Ollie Katherine Spinner Howard and Robert Lee Howard. Nine years later her only sibling was born, Virginia Lee Howard she survives.
Rae went on to graduate from North High School in Denver and then proudly served her country in the Navy Waves during the second world war. She continued her education after her year in the Navy waves and graduated from Denver University.
Rae married William Allen, and had two sons, Charles who survives and Robert who preceded her in death.During her marriage and raising her sons, she had many adventures as they moved to Denver, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Virginia, and Indiana.
She worked several places, but the National Academy of Sciences was her main job for several years. Rae married Van Herfurth, and later Frank Keppelmann, both preceding her in death. In her later years she made her home in Arvada,Co, Nederlands, Co, Townsend, MT. and Chubbuck Id.
She was an avid reader all her life. She enjoyed writing, and was in many Writer's groups. Rae also enjoyed growing plants, socializing with friends and loved one's and being involved with the Womans Auxiliary in Townsend. She also loved animals, and always had several of her own.
She had many grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
