Rodney Clinton Armstrong, 62, passed away April 21, 2018 from natural causes. Clint was born on November 9, 1955 in American Falls, Idaho to Rodney M. Armstrong and Carol J. Hewitt Armstrong. He was the first of four children. He grew up in Aberdeen, Idaho. His father had horses, race horses and ran cutter teams and Clint loved to help with them and learned to ride at an early age and loved to ride every chance he could. He enjoyed many summers with his Grandpa Hewitt in Copper Basin.
He was in the Air Force, completing basic training in Texas to become a Load Master and was stationed in South Carolina. He was able to visit at least 36 different countries while in the service. His father managed an outfitting business and Clint loved to help out and take the supplies and hunters to the camp by horseback. He also worked for a couple of farmers then went to work for the City of Pocatello.
He married Sherrill Merritt, they had two children Case Armstrong and Breyan Armstrong, they later divorced. He then married Linda Paris. They have been together since 2008.
Clint is survived by his wife Linda Armstrong, son Case Armstrong, daughter Breyan Armstrong, bonus children Otto (Karla)Paris, Reuben (Heather)Paris, Eli (Jennifer) Paris and Katie (Jared) Short, parents Rodney & Carol Armstrong, brothers Rick Armstrong, Wade (Shawna) Armstrong, sister Shelly Armstrong and 10 Grandchildren.
Clint was an avid outdoorsman who spent many happy hours hunting with his son, Case, and duck hunting with Reuben. Clint had a special gift with young children and loved babies. He was their protector and strongest advocate. Clint was a larger than life man who had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand. He will leave a vacancy in the hearts of all of us.
Funeral services for Clint will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 West Chubbuck Rd, Chubbuck, Idaho. A viewing for friends and family will be held at Wilks Funeral Home, Idaho from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 and again one hour prior to the funeral service. His interment will follow the services at Mountain View Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.
