Quinn K Pidcock

Quinn K. Pidcock, 50, of Inkom, Idaho, passed away Sunday, October 25th, 2009, following a sudden illness.

Quinn was the oldest child, born August 16th, 1959, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Martha May Kelly and Kenneth K. Pidcock. He was raised in Inkom, and attended Inkom Elementary through the 8th grade, then graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1977. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After graduation he attended LDS Business College in SLC, BYU in Provo, and Idaho State University.

While at an ISU institute dance, Quinn met his future wife and (his words) one true love, Sandy Kendall of Pocatello. They were married on August 2nd, 1980, and enjoyed 29 perfect years together. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Michelle Dawn, and Jessica Ann who he was so very proud of. Their lives were blessed yet again when their grandson Landon Chase was born and they had the opportunity to open their hearts and their home and adopt him to raise as their own. Quinn's greatest joy in his life was his family, and he was extremely proud to be Landon's “Pa”, and “Gampa” to Kyleigh Nicole, Katelyn Gracie, and Cooper Ty.

Quinn loved to work. He started his first job at age 13, working various positions at a truck stop café. He also worked as an accountant for Bonneville International. While still in school, Quinn worked with his cousin Ted, doing drywall construction, which he was very good at, and he would eventually make this his profession. After many years of working in this trade, he had the opportunity to form a business partnership and together they built up a successful commercial drywall construction company, Norris Drywall, Inc. He was always hands-on, working alongside the employees out on the jobs, and had the computer and accounting background to take care of the books and other details of the business as well. He was proud of their success, their honesty in their business dealings, and in doing quality work.

We all knew we could lean on Quinn for good, loving, sound advice. Many people looked to him as an example. He was a smart, kind, and gentle man with a huge heart, who never broke a rule. If there was ever a project going on and someone needed help, he was thrilled to be there, sharing his time and his talents freely, and he had such a good sense of humor, when you jumped into a project with Quinn, it was no longer work, it was fun.

He was very organized, and tried to show Sandy how he did things, “in case she ever needed to know”, and it is her hope that she will remember what he wanted so much for her to know. The sudden loss of Quinn has left his family and all who knew him simply stunned and devastated, but as he would have wanted, we will try our very best to carry on brave and strong, for him, until the time comes that we can be together again.

He leaves behind his wife, Sandy, of Inkom, two daughters, Michelle Dawn (Tyler) Hall, Idaho Falls, Jessica Ann Pidcock, Pocatello, and his buddy/ son, Landon Chase Pidcock, Inkom, his father Kenneth K. Pidcock, Inkom, his siblings Karla (Michael) Bloom, Pocatello, Lori (W. Jeff) Johnson, Pocatello, and Jeff (Lorri) Pidcock, Inkom, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha M. Pidcock, baby brother Burton, and his grandparents Burt and Berniece Pidcock, Theodore and Neta Kelly, uncles and cousins.

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not meant to be,
So he put his arms around you
and whispered “Come to Me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you,
as we saw you pass away.
Although we loved you deeply,
we could not make you stay.
Your Golden Heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest
Our hearts are truly broken,
but we know God needs the very best.

Services will be held Friday, October 30th, at 11:00 a.m., at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
