Polly Ann Chandler, 78, Passed away of a sudden illness, August 20, 2014 , with her family by her side. Her family and friends will miss her very much. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend. Polly touched so many lives, and influenced so many people by her shining example. She was loved and looked up to by so many. Mom you will be missed.
Polly was born January 11th, 1936 in Orkney, Kentucky to G.B. and Elizabeth McCurry. She moved west to Greybull Wyoming for a year, and then to Pocatello where she was raised and spent the rest of her life. She married the love of her life, Joel Chandler on June 16th, 1956. On March 29th, 1965 they were blessed with a son, Joey, who became the center of their lives. Joel and Polly were always looked up to for their values, work ethic, sense of family, and always willing to help someone in need.
Polly worked at many different places in Pocatello, including Kraft's, and almost every grocery store in town, as a Meat wrapper. She mostly enjoyed taking care of her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was so proud of them and loved them with all of her heart.
Polly is survived by her son Joey (Renee) Chandler, Chubbuck; Grand-daughter, Caitlyn Chandler, Pocatello; Grand-son Dillon Chandler, Chubbuck; and Sister, Marlene Buctha, Pocatello, and so many friends, too numerous to name.
Polly was preceded in death by her Husband, Joel Chandler; Parents, G.B and Elizabeth McCurry; Brother Denny McCurry, and Sister Aileen Trede.
The funeral arrangements for Polly are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, 238-8000. People who knew Polly will understand her wishes of not having a public service, There will be a gathering of family and close friends at a later date.
