Phyllis Renay Armstrong passed away on December 27, 2018 at her home in Downey. Renay was born September 26, 1947 in Shelley, Idaho to William & Phyllis Armstrong. She graduated from Highland High School and attended Idaho State University for two years.
Renay spent the majority of her life living in Chubbuck prior to moving to Downey in 2016. She worshipped her pets, dog, cat & the chickens! She loved horses; she participated in rodeos in high school and many years after. She played soft ball with a local team for years. She was also a very proficient crafter working with ceramics, painting and cross stitch. She was a 4-H leader of the Winner's Way group and taught many local kids. She was also affiliated with the Portneuf Animal Welfare Society.
Renay retired from the Bannock County Motor Vehicle division in 2005 after 32 years of service. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; held various positions including Relief Society President. Renay's parents were always very proud of her.
She is survived by her brother, Bill Armstrong Jr. and his wife Sherry; sister Cricket Hawkins; beloved friend Laretta Grimmett; also many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Virginia Idaho Ward, at exit 36 off Interstate 15. A viewing will be held prior to services at the church. Interment will follow services in the Firth Cemetery.
