Phyllis Johnson

In Memory of Phyllis Johnson Phyllis Vaiotuli Johnson returned to her Father in Heaven on Saturday, August 10, after succumbing to complications of a heart attack. Her infectious smile and loving demeanor will never be forgotten, having permanently touched the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She was born on June 7, 1962 in Western Samoa. When she was a young child, her parents Iese and Siai Purcell decided to move the family to the United States. From an early age she was taught the importance of love, patience and service, and she used those lessons to brighten the lives of those who knew her. Phyllis's calling in life was motherhood, and she was constantly opening her heart and home to those in need. Phyllis is survived by her husband David Wynn Johnson of Shelley. She is also survived by her children: Andrea Kotowski, Idaho Falls; Bill (Dena) Kotowski, Pocatello; Iese Kotowski, Eagan, MN; Lana (Jerry) Hokanson, Bozeman, MT; Jessica Johnson, Norman, OK; Brianna Johnson, Idaho Falls; Wynn Johnson, Shelley; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Andrew Kotowski, Ember Kotowski, Rita Scott, Angeline Scott and Iese and Siai Purcell. A viewing will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home at 2005 S. 4th in Pocatello. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 17 at 300 E. Chapel in Pocatello with a graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery afterwards.
