POCATELLO-Phyllis Elizabeth Harris, 79, of Chubbuck, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at a local care facility. She was born the youngest of 4 children of Ira Alonzo Neibaur and Bertha Cleo Jacobs Neibaur in Newdale, Idaho. Phyllis attended schools in Newdale until 1948 when she married Merlin. They were married June 2, 1948 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan temple. Together they had 6 children, Dan, Nannette, Scott, Brian, Casey, and Suzanne. She was a stay at home mom but she also helped on the family farm keeping books. Phyllis later earned her GED in 1987 and continued on to earn an associate's degree in business administration in 1990 from Idaho State University. She was grateful and proud of the fact that she kept books for the family farm and later opened a family business "the Cookie Jar" and operated that as well. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a librarian and also camp director. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, quilting, crossword puzzles, reading, and sharing time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Merlin Harris, Chubbuck, 6 children, Dan (Glenda) Harris, Meridian, Idaho, Nanette (Mike) Spangler, American Falls, Idaho, Scott (Charla) Harris, Weston, Oregon, Brian (Cindy) Harris, Inkom, Idaho, Casey Harris, Las Vegas, Nevada, Suzanne (Rhett) Freeman, Pocatello, Idaho, siblings; Seth (Verba) Neibaur, Newel (Colleen) Neibaur, Hilda (Lynford) Murri, 24 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, 83201. A viewing will be held from 6:00 until 7:30 PM, Tuesday evening at Colonial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Falls View Cemetery in American Falls.
