Peter "Pete" B. Hodson

Peter "Pete" Boyd Hodson, 84, passed away on February 13, 2025. Pete was born on April 20, 1940 to Boyd and Fern Hodson.

Pete grew up in Pocatello, Idaho with his mom and dad and older sister, Sydney. He would walk to school in those days. He attended Pocatello High School. After school, he joined the National Guard. Pete enjoyed a trip to Hawaii and then went to trade school for auto body work.

Pete married Lois Judge on June 21, 1973 in Reno, Nevada. They were married for 34 years making their home in American Falls, Idaho.

Pete worked at Lamb Weston, from where he retired after 40 years.

Pete loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing at Henry's Lake, American Falls Dam, Devils Creek and especially the Mackay Reservoir. He had a camper that he would pull where he would stay for a week or two. He also did very intricate woodworking with his scroll saws. He even made a grandfather clock. Much of his work was sold at the Farmers Market in American Falls and Pocatello. Pete loved sports, especially his Idaho State University football and men's and women's basketball. He would attend in person whenever he could or he would listen to it on the radio. He never missed a game.

Pete is survived by his daughter, Mary (LaMont) McLean of American Falls, ID; daughter, Lisa Olafson of Pocatello, ID; granddaughter, Amy (Brian) Beers of Pocatello, ID; granddaughter, Dixie (Steve) Greene of Heriman, UT; grandson, Adam (Candi) DeForest of Clinton, UT; granddaughter, Megan (Brandon) Pedersen of Kingman, AZ; grandson, Justin (Angie) McLean of Blackfoot, ID; granddaughter, Carrie (Jen) McLean of Baton Rouge, LA; granddaughter, Allissa McLean of Pocatello, ID; granddaughter, Alice (Kyle) Whitley of Pocatello, ID; granddaughter, Robyn Crystal of Pocatello, ID; granddaughter, May (Jeff) Casey of Rio Rancho, NM; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Brad) Merzlock of Pocatello, ID; grandson, Matthew (Annie) Otterstein of Pocatello, ID; grandson, Aaron (Jade) Otterstein of Oakridge, TN; and granddaughter, Sarah (Ryan) Bartel of Pocatello, ID: our beloved uncle; nephews, Barney Brookbank and Michael Brookbank; nieces, Cristene Brookbank and Marla Brookbank; and 33 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Boyd Hodson; mom, Fern Hodson; sister, Sydney Hodson; and his beloved wife of 34 years, Lois Hodson.
