Peggie Quick

Peggie Fitzgerald Quick, 88, of Chubbuck, Idaho passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family October 4, 2016. Peggie was born to Edward Joseph Fitzgerald and Charlotte Fowlks Fitzgerald October 1, 1928 in Cottonwood, Utah. Peggie was raised in the Salt Lake area and graduated from Granite High School in 1946. She married LeRoy Smith Quick, her lifelong sweetheart, October 22, 1946. They were sealed for time and all eternity, a few years later, in the Salt Lake Temple. This month they will have been married for 70 years. In 1967 the family moved to Chubbuck to spend the rest of their lives raising a family in this beautiful community. Peggie was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. She spent her life in service to her family, church, and all those around her. She was a devoted wife and mother to her best friend Roy and their 8 children. She was known by family and friends to be hard working, meticulous and thrifty, while always enjoying life to its fullest. She was quick to laugh and create fun in everything they did. Their home was one of love for the Lord, love for each other and love of life. She was an expert seamstress and made many clothes and quilts for her children, grandchildren and others. She loved traveling, camping and fishing. Most family outings involved Island Park where many lasting memories were created. Peggie worked many years at ZCMI in Chubbuck but spent most of her years caring for and loving her family. Peggie is survived by her husband, LeRoy; 6 children, Craig (Bobette), Carey (Paula), Kim (Shauna), Kevin (Joylene), Carolyn and Troy (Kristi); 27 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Kelly and Rick. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.at the LDS church, 4775 Hawthorne Rd. Chubbuck, ID 83202 (corner of Hawthorne and Chubbuck Rd.). A viewing will be held Friday, October 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID, and before the service at the church on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45. Burial will take place in the Murray City Cemetery, Murray, Utah on Monday, October 10, 2016.
