Paul Gannon

July 31, 1943 — November 3, 2008

POCATELLO - Paul Frederick Gannon, 65, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 at a local hospital. He was born on July 31, 1943 in New Jersey. He was the 2nd of 4 children born to Charles and Anna Gannon.

He grew up in East Orange, New Jersey, graduated from High School in Montclair NJ and then served his country in the U.S. Navy. He attended Utah State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree. After graduation, he worked for the Burger King Corporation and opened the first Burger King in Pocatello. He also worked for the McDonalds Corporation. His years of experience as a manger was the catalyst to owning his own restaurant.

Paul was the owner and founder of Olivers Restaurant in Pocatello. With the help of his family, Paul opened the restaurant 25 years ago. Through this restaurant Paul was able to support his family and serve many in the community. This restaurant facilitated private acts of service and kindness. He was known and loved by many.

Paul is survived by his wife of 40 years, Peggy; daughter Lisa (Eric) King; son Steve (Camille) Gannon; daughter Jennie (Duane) Rawlings, all of Pocatello, Idaho. He was the proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren whom he loved very much: Justin and Jordyn King; Lauren, Nicole, Stephanie and Kyra Gannon; Lucas, Rian and Jacob Rawlings.
He is also survived by his mother, Anna Gannon; brothers Richard and Michael Gannon and sister Judy Krehel; Paul was preceded in death by his father, Charles J.Gannon.

The family will be receiving guests at Wilks Funeral Home on Chubbuck Road, Sunday evening between 5-6 pm. At 6pm, a short life tribute program will be presented by the family. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov 10th at 11am at St. Anthony's Chapel on 7th Avenue in Pocatello. The inurnment will follow at Mountainview Cemetery.
