Patsy Kaye Peterson

d. February 14, 2014

Patsy Kaye Christiansen Peterson died early in the morning of Feb. 14, 2014, at the age of 75, after a brief illness. Kaye was born in Downey, Idaho, Aug. 4, 1938, to Orion L. and Ruth I. Evans Christiansen. She attended school in Downey. In 1955 she married Dale R. Willie from Malad, Idaho. Together they had two children. After divorcing, she moved to Boise, Idaho, where she met Richard B. Madson. Kaye and Dick were married in 1960 and they had two sons together. After raising her family as a devoted mother, she earned her GED and was trained as a drug and alcohol counselor. Kaye possessed natural artistic skills. During her life she became an accomplished piano player and enjoyed oil painting. She loved spending time with her many grandchildren. Kaye was a loving mother and grandmother and loyal friend to many. Being of meager means most of her life, she generously shared what little she had, but more importantly shared love and friendship with all she met and knew. Even in her later years while living at Monte Vista Hills care center, while afflicted with her own health issues, she always reached out to those around her who were less fortunate and found ways of helping them. Kaye was loved by all those who knew her. She will be missed. She is survived by her daughter Susan Willie Newbold (Jimmy), and sons Kelly D. Willie (Anita), Gregory S. Madson (Sherri), and Eric A. Madson. She is also survived by her brother Dee Christiansen, 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and sisters Lois, Sherry and Lynn. A viewing for friends and family will Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. in Pocatello. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at the LDS chapel located at 525 East 100 N. in Downey, Idaho, at 11 a.m. We will greet friends and family at 10 a.m. the day of the funeral in Downey. Mom will be laid to rest at the Downey City cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family at www.colonial-funeralhome.com.
