Patricia Turman

May 10, 1943 — July 6, 2019

The light of our lives has left our side and is now shining over us I was born May 10, 1943 to Martin W. Walsh & Hulda Schritter Walsh at the General Hospital in Pocatello, Idaho. I attended school at Jefferson Elementary & St. Joseph Catholic School. I was part of the inaugural 9 th grade class at Hawthorne Jr. High and graduated in 1961 from Pocatello High School. That summer I rode the train to Salt Lake City & worked at the cafeteria in the Utah state capitol building. I lived with my sister Velma & her family fun times & fond memories. I then attended Links Business College in Boise, ID & worked part time at Albertsons cafeteria. I returned to Pocatello & worked for Byrons Sewing Center. Paula Moore introduced me to Dennis on a blind date around that time. I transferred to Boise for about 4 months then came home and married Dennis. After working at Montgomery Wards for a while I got a job at Pocatello Childrens Clinic where I remained for 43 years. I have two daughters, Tamara (Tami), and Michelle (Missy). The girls are the love of my lifeI have enjoyed them so much! We had our first home built on Park St. in downtown Inkom, ID when Tami was in first grade. When the girls got older they became interested in horses. After chasing the horses on the hilltop of our rented pasture on Rapid Creek Rd. we decided we needed a pasture of our own. We bought our current home with 3 acres on Inkom Rd in 1976. The girls joined Funny Farmers 4H Club & later the Choctaw Riding Group & 4H Club. It was so much fun spending every weekend going to riding events with them and making so many wonderful friends along the way. I retired from the clinic in 2008 after working there for 43 years. I loved my job and co-workers and even worked there part time for another year. Den & I got to enjoy each others company while we drove cars for Pocatello Nissan/Kia. Dennis & I have stayed so busy camping, fishing, four-wheeling & snowmobiling with cherished family & friends. Other highlights have been: "Sisters Trip" Caribbean Cruise, Alaska trip, River of No Return adventure with Dens family as well as the trip to Leavenworth, WA with my brother John & his family. Den, myself and the girls made one last trip all together for brother Johns retirement & 70 th birthday celebration in beautiful northern Idaho. Spending a week with our dear friends Ron & Linda in Bermuda Palms, CA & seeing all the sights was a great time also. I loved meeting with the cousins, sisters & friends once a month for lunch. I also enjoyed our monthly get togethers with Poky High classmates. I loved being on the Planning Committee for the class reunions: fun work, special camaraderie that paid off in great reunions. Pat Turman, 76, passed away at home in Inkom, ID on Saturday July 6 surrounded by family & friends. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dennis, daughters Tamara "Tami" Madsen (Sheldon), Michelle "Missy" Smith (Jay), 1 granddaughter, 1 grandson & granddaughter-in-law, 4 great-grandchildren, siblings Velma, John (Deb), Sharon, Pat & CarlaDee, and many more cherished family members & friends. Heartfelt thanks to all family, friends, community members, medical support team & Heritage Home Health & Hospice for helping our family during this journey. Pat loved you all! A Celebration of Pats Life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Inkom Park Pavilion, 189 Park St. Inkom, ID from 12:00 4:00 PM. Lunch will be served.
