Patricia Lee Schunk

March 14, 1936 — August 31, 2013

Pat Schunk, 77, died peacefully August 31, 2013, with her family by her side after a
tenacious battle with cancer. She was born March 14, 1936 in Sheridan Wyoming to
Charles and Agnes Shell.

From the beginning she was a spitfire, spending her early years in Sheridan playing with
her many pets and always making sure she was the fastest runner of all the kids in her
neighborhood. She grew into a beautiful young woman and married William Schunk in
June of 1955. To this union were born four daughters. The years raising her family were
filled with adventure as the family lived in Wyoming and Alaska, before finally coming
to Pocatello in 1970, where she lived the rest of her life.

She and Bill divorced in 1988. She spent the remaining years after that selling Avon. Many of her Avon customers became dear friends. She liked to hunt for artifacts, fish, dig for old glass, fix furniture, work in her yard, and watch the birds, squirrels, and rabbits who lived and ate there. In the end, she loved just to be outside with her animals. She loved animals, especially
birds. At the time of her passing her lovebird, Little Man, was by her side.

She is survived by her lovebird, Little Man; four daughters: Debbie Brooks, Teri Steed
(Doug), Theresa Pape (Ken), all of Pocatello, and Billie Misevcis (Robert) of Catskill,
New York; sisters Carolyn Horsley of Billings, Montana and Betty Keeler of Gillette,
Wyoming; four grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Francis and Gary Shell, and
daughter Mary Theresa, who died at birth. She is also survived by eleven grand-dogs and
five grand-cats. Mother, we know you are soaring among the clouds on your next life
journey.

An open house in her honor will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday September 20, 2013 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road. In lieu of flowers, please donate to PAWS at PO Box 1603/Pocatello, ID 83204 or an animal welfare organization of your choice.
