Pocatello's venerable citizen, Norval Alleman (Norv), age 103 and 11 months, passed away Sunday, November 10 th 2013, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Wyoming December 1909. Norval was born to George & Effie Alleman. He was the 4 th of 6 children and was raised on the large family ranch near Cokeville, Wyoming. The family later moved to Kemmerer, Wyoming, where Norval attended High School. He enjoyed sports, and was an all-state basketball player. He sat with a beautiful young girl on the train coming home from Cheyenne as they left the competitions and they were never separated from that day forward. He married his sweetheart, Beatrice, in October 1928. They had 4 very active and happy children. They raised their family playing games and enjoying a large extended family. They lived in Kemmerer until 1955, when they moved to Pocatello where he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 32 years. Norval had a long and illustrious relationship with bowling making many life-long friends. When he was 95 he bowled a sanctioned 279 game. He is preceded in death by his wife Beatrice, his parents George and Effie Alleman, siblings Emma, George, Winton, Sue, and Marshall, his son Danny and daughter Peggy. Survived by brother Marshall's wife, Joan of Sandy, Utah. He is survived by his son Norval W. Sr. (Bill) (Ruth Anne) Alleman, and daughter Patricia (Lynn) Hankins. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren, and 59 great great grandchildren. Arrangements are being made by Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Viewing Friday, November 15, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Preceded by family viewing time and prayer at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Pocatello, IDa�"200 East 15 th Street.8:00 p.m. Graveside service 3:00 p.m. in Ogden, Utah at 4500 Washington Boulevard at the Washington Heights Cemetery.
