Norman Gregory Richardson passed away on June 30, 2024, at the age of 72 after a sudden brief illness. He was beloved by all who knew him due to his ability to make every person he met his friend. We will miss his contagious smile, silly jokes, serious talks, understanding, laughter, and love.
As an optometrist practicing for 42 years, he was cherished by his patients for his kindness and caring heart. Electronics and computers were his favorite hobbies, and he wrote much of the software for his office. He had a special knack with computers; when a computer was acting up, he could usually fix the problem very quickly. Sometimes, just his presence seemed to make the computer start working again. We think computers were in awe of him.
The beach, especially his favorite one in Corona Del Mar, California, was one of his happy places. He also loved the mountains and lakes of Idaho and Utah.
He was married in the Los Angeles Temple to his adoring wife, Joyce, and they lived together in joy and love for nearly 48 years. He was so proud and grateful for their four wonderful children: Eric, Alex, Amber, and Glen, and their 13 remarkable grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth Gowers Richardson, and siblings, Lisa Pinsker and Lance Richardson. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Cazier Richardson.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Stake and Ward Clerk for over 25 years. Many incoming Stake Presidents and Bishops sought his advice. He had an unshaken testimony of his Savior, the resurrection, and Eternal Families.
He fought his whole life with many health issues, and we are grateful that he is now free from pain and at peace. He is now enjoying time with his father and getting his orientation tour of heaven.
But wait, it’s too soon; our hearts are truly breaking. Do you know how much we love you, admire you, and will miss you?
In our hearts, we hear him saying,
"Don't worry, I know, I feel all the love from everyone. It's going to be okay. I'll see you all...again..."
