Norman Lee Buxton, Sr., 84, passed away July 29, 2017 at a local care center. He was born on April 15, 1933 in Ainsworth, Nebraska. In 1954, he moved to Idaho, residing in Pocatello. He attended Idaho State University in 1963. Norman was divorced. He worked as a welder for Paul Roberts Machine Shop for 30 years. Norman belonged to the AA and Salvation Army organizations and was also a Korean War Veteran. He was a High Priest in the LDS church. He loved gardening, farming, fishing and hunting. Norman is survived by his brother, William (Bill) Buxton, Hazelton, ID, sisters, Margie Hartgrave, Kimberly, ID, Marian Close, Murtaugh, ID; daughter, Debbie Lindsey, Topeka, KS, daughter, Wanda Kelley, Crescent City, CA, son, Norman L. Buxton Jr., Moreland, ID, daughter, Linda Petee, Bellingham, WA, daughter, Sandra Hudson, Pocatello, ID, son, Melvin Foster, Fort Hall, ID, daughter, Jennifer Southwood, Pocatello, ID, son, Michael Buxton, Pocatello, ID, daughter, Millie Menchu, Pocatello, ID, daughter, KaDee Foran, Pocatello, ID, son, Robert Pehrson, Clarksville, TN; 30 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Buxton Sr.; mother, Mildred Buxton; brother, Edwin (Red) Buxton Jr.; daughter, Roberta Buxton; son, Robert Legg; daughter, Gaydeanna Buxton; daughter, Bonnie Anderton; grandson, Brandin Anderton; and granddaughter, Deanna Whitworth. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 2 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID, with a gathering for one hour prior. Military Honors will follow the services at Colonial Funeral Home.
