Norma Marie Egan Morris,95, passed away September 29, 2014 at the Gables in Pocatello, Idaho. She was born November 2, 1918. Norma was one of 7 children born to J. Alva Egan and Zina Christensen Egan in Central Idaho. She graduated from Pocatello High School. She always loved school and was valevictorian of her class. Norma served a full time mission in California in 1941. She was preceeded in death by her brother, Merlin Egan, her sisters, Thelda Bills, Afton Green, and Marjorie Wilson. She is survived by sisters, Eleda Dressen and Lenno Wells. She and her sweetheart , Jack D Morris, were married in the Logan temple on September 23, 1942. they were together for 61 years prior to his passing on July 27, 2003. They have a wonderful posterity of 6 children, the late Brent D. Morris (he and his wife, Kathy, died in 1979), Jacquline Day (California), Dwight (Arizona), Steven (Pocatello), Coleen Hawkins (Oregon), Lisa (Arizona). They have 20 grandchildren, 72 great- grandchildren, and 5 great- great- grandchildren. Norma loved her family dearlyafter her family visited and it was time to return to their own homes, her famous phrase wasOhh, dont go! She loved to be around her family. Norma was always an active and devoted member of the LDS church and fulfilled many callings which she enjoyed tremendously. She was the ultimate missionary and would share her testimony to everyone. She and Jack served a mission together in the Fort Hall Mission. She loved to dance. Norma and Jack enjoyed dancing and taught ballroom dancing for many years in Pocatello and surrounding communities. In her earlier years, she worked for one of the earliest TV stations in Pocatello, KTLE, where she had a cooking show called the "Happy Homemaker". Norma was always interested in living a healthy life and was a Shaklee surpervisor for the Shaklee corporation. She and Jack earned many exciting trips through Shaklee, and traveled to see many parts of the world. She loved being a mother and grandmother. Also cooking, sewing, gardening, walking, dancng, reading, journaling, and being a good neighbor and picking the dandelions in everyones yard! She loved life and being active. We all loved her. If you asked her family , what six words described their mom , they would sayfaithful, hard working, kind hearted, generous, and enduring to the end. With thankful hearts, the Morris family would like to thank Angie Howell and the staff of the Gables for the love, kindness, respect, and awesome care that they gave our mother. We will be forever grateful. Thank you. A viewing will be Friday, October 3, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 208-233-1500 and again on Saturday October 4, 2014 from 10-11 AM at the LDS church located at 5425 S. Bannock Highway, Poc. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 11 AM at the Bannock Highway Church Bldg. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
