Norma Jensen

Norma Irene Jensen passed away at Portneuf Medical Center on November 1, 2011 at 8:30 p.m. She was born August 12, 1943 in St. Helen, Columbia, Oregon to George Newby and Agnes Hathaway. She was the fourth eight children. Her brothers are James Haden, Woodrow Irvin, George Thomas, Burgess Dale, and Jed Lee Newby. Her sisters are Patricia May Newby Kwok, and Judy Linda Newby Batts.

She graduated from Pocatello High School on the 26th day of May 1961. She married and had three children of her own; Teresa, Tanya and Brent Jr. Culter. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. From her three children she has 12 grandkids; Teresa's son, Zac; Tanya's daughters, Shantay, Keshia, Tiffany, Annaka, Tianna; Brent's four sons, Mitchell, Jacob, Joshua, Mason, and a daughter, Mikenxi. She has eight great grandkids.

She was a valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her last calling to serve was as 1st Counselor in the 53rd Branch. She loved working with people and serving in the Church.

She married Darold Jensen on June 8, 1985. They lived in Pocatello for two years then moved to Salt Lake City to find work. They lived there for seven years and moved to Idaho Falls because Darold's work transferred him there. After seven years there, they moved back to Pocatello where Darold retired for a year. Then Norma and Darold managed Highland Community Home Park were they still live.

She loved to crochet, do genealogy, garden, and making quilts. She also loved to play games on the computer.

She is survived by two daughters and one son; Teresa Cutler of West Jordan, Utah, Tanya (Al) Welch of West Point, Utah, and Brent V. Cutler (Malena) of American Falls, Idaho, and her 12 grandkids and 8 great grand kids.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions can be made to Darold Jensen at the Wells Fargo Bank on Yellowstone in Chubbuck.
