Nona Belle Applegate Bradshaw, age 83, was called home to her Heavenly Father on September 16, 2024 in Pocatello, Idaho. Born in Cedar City, Utah, to Lyle D. and Jewell Dorene Couch, Nona spent her early years in Lund Utah before moving to Milford, where she graduated from Milford High School.
Nona’s love for the outdoors and animals, especially horses, was evident throughout her life. After losing her mother at the age of 12, she devoted her teenage years to supporting her father and helping to raise her three younger brothers, Gary, Bryce, and Boyd.
In the spring of 1961, Nona met the love of her life, Joe Bradshaw. They were married in the St. George Temple on September 8, 1961, and together they raised three children: Cindy, Scott, and Malinda. The family cherished their time outdoors, whether riding horses, cruising on motorcycles, or enjoying quiet Sunday night campfires. Nona’s warmth and nurturing spirit made her a wonderful wife and mother. Her home was always filled with love, laughter and great food.
An accomplished businesswoman, Nona opened her own clothing store and balanced her career with countless hours spent camping, riding, and hunting alongside her family. She and Joe shared a passion for hunting that took them on adventures as far as Alaska and Africa.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nona served in many positions throughout her life, embodying kindness and a strong work ethic. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe, her parents Lyle and Jewell, sisters Dorene and Dona, and brother Boyd.
Nona is survived by her children, Cindy Jordan, Scott (Traci) Bradshaw, and Malinda (Boyd) Parker; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her brothers Eb, Gary, and Bryce.
We are deeply grateful for her example of hard work, kindness, and fierce love of family. Nona will be dearly missed for her sweet spirit, beautiful smile, and the joy she brought into our lives. We love you, Mom, and will strive to make you proud!
