Nolan D Nash

Nolan D Nash, 83 passed away May 2, 2013 in Pocatello, Idaho from Cancer. Nolan passed away peacefully in the home of his sister Judith Nash. Nolan had been living in Arizona and was in Idaho to visit family and friends.

Nolan was born in Preston, Idaho to Weldon A and Veleta Nash. He was the second of six children. He grew up in Preston. Nolan enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17, trading his final year of high school to serve his country. He served two tours of duty, one at the end of WWII and again during the Korean Conflict. After his military service Nolan attended the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City Utah and worked for the telephone company as a lineman in Idaho and Utah. He spent 35 plus years working for INL in security, accounting and property management.

Nolan married Una Jean Cox Swensen in 1954. They divorced in 1960. He married Elaine Frisch in 1962, who passed away in 1975. In 1980, Nolan married the love of his life and soul mate Genevieve (Judy) Browning Carroll. After retiring they moved to Arizona in 1995, where they purchased a home in Prescott Valley. Judy passed away from Cancer in July 1996. Afterwards, Nolan filled his time with volunteer work for Meals on Wheels, the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center, and the Red Cross. He drove for the Red Cross until April 2012.
Nolan will most be remembered for his love of fishing and travel. He loved to grow flowers and tomatoes, have backyard BBQs, and watch football and NASCAR.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Weldon and Veleta Nash and his wives Elaine and Judy. He is survived by his daughter Margo Nash, son Douglas O. Nash, daughter in law Karalee Palmer Nash. Brothers Stuart and Boyd, sisters Pauline Holmes, Judith, and Marie Mayes. His ex-wife Una Jean and step children Michael B Swensen, Donny Te Beau, William P Carroll, Patrick J Carroll, Michael T Carroll, Shawn Carroll, Charles Carroll, Marie T Holt, Maureen Carroll. And last but not least his canine companion Chip.

Memorial services will be Monday, May 6, 2013 at 2:00pm, at the Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd, Chubbuck, Idaho 83202 There will be a luncheon after the service. His children will take his remains to Arizona where he will be reunited with his loving wife Judy at the Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Encompass Home Health and Hospice 4425 Burley Dr Chubbuck, Idaho 83202. The family expresses their gratitude to Encompass staff for the care and compassion they showed Nolan.
