Nola Hopkins

Nola Jones Hopkins passed in peace at Brookdale Senior Living Center, in Chubbuck, Idaho on July 22, 2019 at the age of 80 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her daughter Tina Spears and her grandson Joseph Jerry Maravilla. She is survived by her husband Jerry Cecil Hopkins and three daughters, Debra Lyn Mckee (Roy), Kita Dawn Maravilla (Darrell), and Shawna Renae Jessen (Aaron) and 17 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. She grew up the oldest of 11 children and often told stories about helping her mother with her younger siblings. She began working at a very young age and spent half of her adult career as a waitress and the other half as a teller and receptionist at the Railroad Credit Union. She enjoyed camping and traveling. She loved her family and being wherever any of them were. Her family remembers her as a funny lady who knew how to make you feel great when you were with her. She married her sweetheart Jerry Hopkins on April 27, 1962 and was later sealed in the Idaho Falls temple. The two spent nearly every minute of the next 58 years together. Jerry was always involved in playing music and Nola was his biggest fan. They enjoyed traveling together and in retirement the two spent half of the year "Snow birding" in Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the LDS West Stake Center 3444 Hawthorne Road. She will be laid to rest at the Cache Clawson Cemetery following those services in Tetonia, Idaho. The family will receive guests at a viewing from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South 4 th Avenue, Friday, July 26 th and from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday morning at the LDS Stake Center. The family would like to express thanks to her Hospice team and caregivers at Brookdale for the wonderful help and care given during the journey.
