Nicolas Nima Bozorg-omid, 19, Pocatello, passed away Tues., Dec. 31, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Nick was born in Clearwater, FL, on Dec. 12, 1994. He moved to Idaho in 2002. He attended Jefferson Elementary and Irving Middle School. Nick attended Pocatello High School, where he played basketball and football and graduated in 2013. He attended Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa fall 2013 and honored to be part of the Briar Cliff Charger football team.
Nick was passionate about all things. He was the son of his moment. Nick helped everyone around him feel at ease with his unique blend of wisdom and utter goofball. People knew they were important to him. Nick had a huge heart; he cared deeply about people and made friends everywhere he went. He was loved and respected by family, friends, teachers, teammates, and coaches. He had a great sense of humor. Nick had a style all his own and was a standout in any crowd with his 100 watt smile and his 1000 watt hairstyle of the moment. He was down to earth, easy-going, yet a dedicated and disciplined athlete. Although Nick was only in this world for a short time, he made a big splash, and he will always be cherished by his family and his countless friends.
Nicolas is the cherished only child of Dr. Renee Bozorg-omid of Pocatello and Mo Bozorg-omid of St. Petersburg, FL and the beloved stepson of Jim Lance, Pocatello and Farida Safavi of St. Petersburg, FL. He is the brother of Michael Lance of Joseph, OR, Angelina Lance of Sammamish, WA, and Jake Lance of Anaheim, CA. Nick is also survived by his grandparents, Karen Garbers and Merrill Birchmier, of Pocatello, and Donald Garbers and Tully Wise of Palm Harbor, FL. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Dr. Elizabeth Rose, San Anselmo, CA, Greg Garbers, Shaida Bozorg-omid, both of St. Petersburg, FL and Masoud Bozorg-omid, Iowa City, IA, and Mehrdad Bozorg-omid of Dubai. He is also survived by his cousins, Joseph Garbers and Alex Omid of St. Petersburg, FL, and Chloe Bozorg-omid of Iowa City, IA. Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Veghah Salehpour and Majid Bozorg-omid of Shiraz, Iran; and uncle Mehdi Bozorg-omid, Dubai.
A mass of Christian burial will be held for Nick at 11 a.m., on Sat., Jan. 4, 2014, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Community St. Anthony Chapel, 504 N. 7th Ave. in Pocatello. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Fri., Jan. 3, 2014, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd. The interment will follow the services at Mountain View Cemetery. His funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home, 238-8000.

Nick's family suggests memorial contributions be made to a scholarship that has been established for students at Pocatello High School to assist those in need with participation fees for all activities.
