Nedra Kirkland

Nedra Golden Kirkland passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City September 27 th 2011. She was born to Harold H. and LaRu Smoot Golden in Boise, Idaho, on March 16, 1937. Married to Robert Kirkland in the Idaho Falls Temple. She was cheerful and happy by nature, and great company when she was feeling well. She was an insulin dependent diabetic for more than 40 years, but she never complained and faced the illness with dignity and grace. A devout member of the LDS church, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves behind 5 children, Jana Collins, Mark Kirkland, Travis Kirkland, Resa Kirkland, and Shaunie Kirkland, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Her kindness, sense of humor, generosity, and feistiness will be missed by those who knew her. Preceded in death by her husband, son in law, and grandson, the family takes comfort that she has been released from years of physical hardship and suffering to be with loved ones. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2011, at Mountain View Cemetery.
