Nathan Choules

Nathan Elmer Choules was born on September 23rd 1934 in Fairview, Idaho to Elmer and Irene (Oliverson) Choules, and was the fifth of six children. He passed away at Portneuf Medical Center on December 11th 2010 after an extended illness.

Nathan attended school from first grade through the first part of the eighth grade in Fairview, Idaho. The family moved to Pocatello in 1947, where he completed the remainder of his eighth grade year at Franklin Junior High. The following year Nathan attended Pocatello High School where he graduated in 1952. He completed a 4 year electrical apprenticeship at the Union Pacific Railroad in Pocatello, where he continued working for the next 44 years until his retirement in 1996. During his senior year of high school he met his life companion Muriel Jean Skinner and were married in 1954. Nathan and Muriel were blessed with five children.

Nathan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a member of the Idaho National Guard for several years where he trained and worked as an aircraft mechanic. Nathan continued a great fondness for aviation and worked toward achieving a private pilot's license. Nathan enjoyed the outdoors and the opportunity to fish and other outdoor activities with his family.

Nathan is survived by his wife Muriel of Chubbuck, ID, sons: Mike (Betsy) Choules of Boise, ID, Jeff (Linda) Choules of Chubbuck, ID, Corey (Marjean) Choules of Chubbuck, ID, Tina (Rick) Perkins of West Covina, California, and Todd (Corey) Choules of Pocatello, ID and 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grand children. Nathan is also survived by two sisters Helen Hill and Ruth Kokol both of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and brother Clayne O. Choules of Washougal, Washington. Nathan was preceeded in death by his parents Elmer and Irene Choules, sister Martha Louise Choules, brother Charles O. Choules, and great-grand daughter Angel Curzon.
