On Monday, March 27, 2017, Naomi Mae Harrison, 97, was reunited with her husband, several of her children and many loving friends and relatives who had preceded her. She was born on April 9, 1919, in Gysum, Kansas to Russell Barr Williamson and Nola Mae Hawthorne. Her childhood was spent near the shores of Lake Michigan around Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated in Industrial Design from the University of Southern California. She met and married Rexford Wilson Harrison in 1942. Their courtship took them into World War II and military service for her husband. Following the war they made their home in Pocatello, Idaho where Rex took over his fathers optometric practice. They were the parents of six children, three of which were taken early in tragic automobile accidents. Naomi was known for her many talents and her dedication to her husband and children. They loved the Salmon River country, spending many weekends there and more time after retirement. Naomi was an active member of the LDS church and prided herself on being a convert through her diligent study to gain a testimony. The culmination of this effort was four consecutive church missions, following retirement, to the States of Washington and Louisiana, and serving twice in the Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific. In Tonga, Naomi was known as the lovely angelic lady with the white hair. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Rex; children, Jeanene, Cherie, Devar and more recently, Saundra; and by nearly all of her peers. She left us here on earth just two weeks short of her 98 th birthday. She is survived by her son, Rexford LeRoy (Elma) Harrison; and her daughter, Renee (Alan) Hill; 16 grandchildren; and 68 great-grandchildren, all who love her dearly. Special thanks to Nathan and Sally Harrison, a grandson and his wife, who have cared for Naomi during her final challenges in life. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1 pm at the LDS Pocatello Stake Building, 655 S. Grant Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204, with a viewing from 11 am 12:30 pm prior at the church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83204. The Audio recording of the funeral service can be downloaded HERE
