Nancy Carolyn Armstrong

Nancy Caroline Howard Armstrong passed away peacefully at a local health care facility following an extended illness on Friday, April 5th, 2013. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born, Jun 2, 1942; the forth of seven children to Maxwell Hjort Howard and Gladys Ella Willson Howard. As a waitress she?ll be remembered for her smile and great service at many local restaurants such as Alvords, Hong Kong Cuisine, Gabertino?s and Butter Burr?s. Nancy also worked many years at Kraft Cheese here in Pocatello and followed the company to Tulare, California. Missing home she traveled back to Pocatello and then decided the warm weather was for her and off to Mesquite, Nevada where she waitressed at the Casa Blanca. Nancy worked in Mesquite until her health declined and she was unable to work any longer. She returned home to Pocatello and to her family and friends where she has resided for the past nine years. Nancy had many hobbies and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved gardening, canning, sewing, and crafts. Loving the outdoors, she loved both snow and water skiing, camping and boating. She enjoyed square dancing. She loved traveling and her children remember many wonderful vacations. She is preceded in death by her father Maxwell and mother Gladys; brothers Lynn Howard and Richard Howard. She is survived by; her son, Gary (Lori) Armstrong; her daughter, Shanna Hart; sisters Jean (Milo) Mickelsen, Rita Andreason; brothers, Walt (Darlene) Howard, Spence (Julie) Howard; four granddaughters, Amy Armstrong, Jamie Armstrong, Sierra Hart, Angela (Jake) Bleyly; two grandsons, Colton Hart, Bradley Armstrong; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was truly blessed with great friends that she considered family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
