Nadine Sortor, 73, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013. She was born on May 30, 1940 in St. Ignatius, Montana, to Argenta (Brown) and Alma Leo Brower. Nadine married Howard D. Sortor March 30, 1968 bringing her son, Phil to a family of 4 more instant brother and sisters. While working at Skaggs, she was introduced to Howard by a mutual friend. After they were married, Nadine became a stay at home mother and wife, and an occasional referee. Nadine was a lifelong member of the LDS church, holding numerous positions and served as a matron in the Idaho Falls Temple. She enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, gardening, baking bread, going for 4-wheeler rides, bowling, and doing anything to spend time with her family. She was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren's activities. She loved her monthly dinner with close friends. Nadine is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Eric) Empey, Blackfoot , Idaho; Shelley (Melinda) Smith, Chubbuck, Idaho; Shirlene (Tioane) Valai Pocatello, Idaho; son, Stacy (Chewy) Sortor, Pocatello, Idaho; brother, Richard Brower, Marysville, Washington, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great -great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, son Phillip, husband Howard, two sisters and one brother. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chubbuck 9 th Ward at 4773 Independence, Chubbuck, Idaho 83202. There will be visitation on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th , Pocatello, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday, January 6, 2014. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. A light luncheon will follow the interment back at the Chubbuck 9th Ward building.
