Myrna Rae Morris Petersen, 87, passed away on November 12, 2023 at Brookdale Senior Living in Pocatello, Idaho.
Myrna was born July 20, 1936, in American Falls, Idaho to Arch and Ilene Fackrell Morris. She attended school at Fairview County School, then attended American Falls Lincoln School. She graduated high school in 1954.
She married Johnny Blair, and her son, Steven, was born from that union before they divorced. She married Mack Hughes, who adopted Steven, and they were later divorced. In 1968 she married Harold A Petersen, and they were married for 37 years before he passed away in 2005.
In 1973, they moved to Pocatello, where they adopted their daughter, Laura. They remained there for the remainder of their lives.
Myrna worked at Lamb Weston, the Telecar, and later retired from Trinity Church doing book work. After retirement, she was involved in fostering kids for many years.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She found great enjoyment in bowling and caring for her family.
Myrna is survived by her son, Steven Hughes of Pocatello, Idaho and her daughter, Laura Colbert of Wyoming; grandsons, Michael Colbert of New Jersey, Jeff Hughes of Pocatello, and John Hughes of Oregon; granddaughters, Savannah Holland of Colorado, Serena Reaves of Pocatello; great granddaughter, Chaleen Hyde of Pocatello, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother and husband.
A viewing will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Rd, Chubbuck, Idaho, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S 5th Ave, Pocatello, Idaho.
