Muriel Jean Skinner Choules, born on March 20, 1937, passed away peacefully, surrounded by many loved ones on October 19, 2024, leaving a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose life was a testament to her commitment to family and education.
Muriel is survived by her children: Michael Choules, Jeffrey Choules (Linda), Corey Choules (Marjean), Tina Choules-Ashley, and Todd Choules Sr. (Corey). She is also survived by her brother Dellas Skinner and sister Christine Skinner-VanTol. Her lineage extends to 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Della Mae Skinner, father, Brigham Skinner, her husband, Nathan Choules, sister Lurlene Lenkersdorfer, and great-grandchild Angel Curzon.
Muriel graduated from Pocatello High School and furthered her education at Idaho State University. She dedicated 30 years of her life to teaching at Lewis and Clark Elementary for School District 25, where she was known for her passion for education and her commitment to her students.
She married Nathan Choules on March 13, 1954, and the two shared many beautiful years together. Muriel was sealed to Nathan in the Idaho Falls Temple on November 24, 2012, a testament to their enduring bond.
Muriel was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served her community with faith and devotion.
In her personal life, Muriel had a variety of interests and hobbies. She was an active participant in a miniature club, lovingly crafting miniature figurines. Her love for travel took her across the world, with Alaska being one of her favorite destinations, where she created lasting memories with her children and their significant others.
Muriel's creative talents extended to crocheting, where she made beautiful blankets for her grandchildren, each one a piece of her love and care.
Muriel Jean Skinner Choules will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her dedication to education, and her myriad of hobbies that brought joy to her and those around her. Her life was a rich tapestry of experiences, love, and commitment, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Funeral service at 11:00 am on Friday, October 25, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4775 Hawthorne Road, Chubbuck, ID. Viewings from 6-8 pm on Thursday, Oct 24 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, ID and at 10:00 am on Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2864 S 5th Avenue, Pocatello, ID.
