Monte John Howell

Monte John Howell, 84, of Pocatello, passed away on April 9, 2022. Born 2/15/38 to Jesse And DeEsta Howell. Born in Basalt Idaho. Graduated Jackson-Wilson High school 1955. He was on the football and basket ball teams.  He went right into the Navy and served 4 years.  He met Karen Sue Williams and 2 weeks later they got married. They had 3 kids Kirk, Stephanie and Doug.  Monte and Karen were married 60 years.  He owned and operated Monte’s Conoco for many years. He retired and sold his business and then went to work at Intermountain Marine selling boats. He gave that up and was a full time Grandpa to Geno Andre, Jessica, Monte and Harley.  The kids have many great memories of the time they had with their Grampy.  Monte enjoyed Trap shooting, hunting with his brothers Ron and Dennis.

He passed away on April 9 of pneumonia.  He is survived by his wife Karen, children and grandchildren and great grandchildren Eli and Isaac Barker and Nico Guerra
