Michael Len Whiting, 63, of Pocatello, Idaho, returned to his Heavenly Father on March 1st, 2025.
Born on November 10, 1961, to Alvin and Joan Whiting in Pocatello, Idaho, Mike graduated from Pocatello High School in 1980. Inspired to serve, he was called to the Alabama, Talladega Mission. Mike met the love of his life one summer evening on The Cruise in Pocatello. It didn’t take long for them to know they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. On Friday, July 13th, 1984, they were sealed for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. They settled down in Pocatello and started their family six years later when Kortney came along on June 5, 1990. He was such a proud dad and took her everywhere with him. A couple of years later, Kody came along on January 1st, 1993. Mike was so happy because he had a girl and a boy. Little did they know that their family was not complete until Kacey came along six years later; September 8, 1999. The little family they had created together was his greatest accomplishment.
Mike took extreme pride in his work ethic and was always true to himself, with his number one priority being the well-being of his family. Together, he and Holly provided the best childhood anyone could ask for. His favorite activities included riding dirt bikes, hunting, camping, and spending time at his cherished camping spot in Leadore, Idaho, where countless memories were made. Mike and Holly shared a love that anyone could only hope for—they were truly best friends and did everything together. Mike was affectionately known as the "Fun-cle" and will be sorely missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Joan Whiting, and his beloved brother, Jimmy, whom he missed dearly.
Mike is survived by his wife, Holly; his children, Kortney (Trent) Smith, Kody (Desirae) Whiting, and Kacey Whiting; his grandchildren, Walker and McCoy Whiting, and Jax Smith; and his siblings, Jonell (Merlin) Hansen and Julie (Duane) Lewis.
Services will be held at Wilks Funeral Home on Friday, March 7th, at 11:00 AM, with a burial service to follow at 1:00 PM at the Norton Cemetery in McCammon, Idaho. All are welcome to attend.
