Michael Raymond Bird

Michael Raymond Bird, 69, of Pocatello, Idaho passed away at Portneuf Medical Center on Sunday, November 29, 2020 due to Anoxic Brain Injury. Mike was born November 9, 1951 to Edward Jeffery Bird and Mary Catherine Bird. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kirksel Bird of Pocatello; 4 adult daughters; and 2 adult sons. Mike has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren plus, a half-sister, Christine. Mike served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge. After the Army he worked towards a Horticulture degree. Mike was currently married to Kirksel Hobbs Bird and they were married in Ocean Shores, WA, on August 24, 2002. Mike was previously married. Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, and many other outdoor activities. He also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, BBQing, motorhome trips and loved family get togethers. Mike had a heart of gold that made him an amazing father and stepfather. He loved to make people laugh. His passion was cooking even if it was for only two people, he usually made enough to feed an Army. A celebration of his life will follow in Summer 2021. Services will be a graveside only on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Blackfoot Veteran's Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Wade Lewis, Troy Neubauer, Jim Montoya, Josh Helton, Chad Penrod, Cody Penrod and Robert Brawley.
