Michael Mccardell

POCATELLO - Michael John McCardell, 66, of Pocatello, passed away on March 13, 2011, at a local care center. He was born on July 2, 1944, to Keith and Gladys McCardell , and was raised on N. Kraft Road in Pocatello until his early 20's. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1963. Michael worked at Zweigart's Meat Packing (Pocatello Brand Meats) and also worked on farms. He lived in Darlington, Shelley, and Rigby. For the last two years of his life he lived at Friends and Family in Idaho Falls. For 37 years he lived with or near his brother and sister-in-law on East Milo. Michael loved to travel, especially in airplanes. He was a kind, gentle, and thoughtful man throughout his life. He was always ready to help anyone. He spent most of his life outside the window looking in. The brothers and sisters would like to thank Lynn for her time, patience and the many milk shakes she took to Mike. The family would also like to thank Sharon Snavely at Country Living Center in Rigby for her loving care of their brother. He is survived by his brothers Richard Keith McCardell and Peter Darrell McCardell; sister Patricia D. McCardell; nine nieces and nephews; multiple great-nieces and nephews; man great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth Bronson McCardell and sister Nita Fay McCardell. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Colonial Funeral Home, and also one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow services at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
