Michael Keith Stoker, 64, passed away Monday June 3rd, 2013 at his home with his family by his side, after a courageous four year battle with cancer. Mike was born January 5, 1949, in Payson, Utah, the second of six children to Max and Eva Clinger Stoker. He was raised and educated in Aberdeen, Idaho graduating from Aberdeen High School in the class of 1967. After high school he served a 2 1/2 year LDS mission to Hamburg, Germany. Upon returning from his mission, he attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho where he met his future bride Shauna Stam. Mike and Shauna became inseparable on November 18, 1971 when they were married in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with 4 children - Kristen, Jared, Brandon, and Jeremy. Mike loved to learn and he valued education. He earned his Associate's degree from Ricks College, his Bachelor's degree from University of Utah, and his Master's degree in Public Administration from BYU. He put his education to work as an Associate Director over Finance and Operations for the Salt Lake County Library System, where he worked for 28 years until he took a medical retirement. Mike was a very faithful member of the Falcon Park ward in the LDS Church and served in many callings. He loved to read, travel, play golf and spend time with his children and grandchildren. He had 100 percent devotion to his wife Shauna. Their relationship defined unity. Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years Shauna of Sandy, Utah. Four children and their spouses, Kristen (Peter) Gehrett, Jared (Erin) Stoker, Brandon (Brecklen) Stoker, and Jeremy (Tiffany) Stoker. His mother and stepfather Eva and Myrl Davidson and five siblings Steven Stoker, Rebecca Stoker, David Stoker, Dorian Stoker, and Paul Stoker as well as 13 beautiful grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Max Stoker. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Utah Cancer Specialists, Huntsman Cancer Center and Intermountain Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday June 8, 2013, at the LDS Canyon View Stake Center located at 9119 South 1300 East Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday June 7, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Canyon View Stake Center Relief Society room and also one hour prior to the service at the church. A military honor guard will be held at the memorial estates Mountain View Cemetery located in Sandy, Utah.
