Michael J. Hernandez passed away on October 26, 2021. He was born on July 17, 1984 in Pocatello Idaho.
He attended Syringa E.S., Alameda Jr. High, Century H.S and graduated from Green Valley H.S. in Henderson Nevada. Michael was a part of the first class to attend Century H.S. after it was built in 1999.
Michael’s job in construction took him to several states including Nevada, California, Wisconsin and Kansas. He eventually moved back to Pocatello and worked at ATCO.
Michael had many hobbies and interests he enjoyed. Fishing and boating with his daughter Brooklyn was an activity they loved being able to do together. He was a Die-Hard Raiders fan and followed the Lakers and Dodgers. He was active in basketball, baseball, football and soccer starting in pre-k.
During his free time he liked to listen to music, play and collect Magic cards, and was interested in history and ufology.
Michael had a witty personality and could always make people laugh. He would help anyone who needed it without reservation. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially during family gatherings and camping.
Nothing made him prouder than being a father. Brooklyn was his entire world and he did everything in his power to make her happy and ensure that she knew how much he loved her.
Michael is survived by his daughter Brooklyn Hernandez of Idaho Falls, ID. His parents Joe and Brittany Hernandez of Las Vegas NV. His parents Rosanna (Miranda) and Gathon McGowan III of Chandler AZ. His sister Veronica Fuentes, brother in law Alex Fuentes and niece Emylena Fuentes and nephew Vidal Fuentes from Las Vegas NV. And his grandparents Jovita and Lorenzo Miranada Sr. from Pocatello ID. Michael is also survived by the following aunts, uncles: Angie Hernandez, Irene (Pancho) Zavala, Maria Maldonado, Lupe Hernandez, Rachael( Robert) Hernandez, Isabel (Mario) Saldana, Kathie (Isidoro)Botello Jr, Beto (Maggie) Hernandez, Rolando (Pearlene) Hernandez and Lorenzo (Jennifer) Miranda Jr. and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Pablo and Pabla Hernandez, and his uncles Juan Hernandez, Jose Maldonado and Luis Rodriguez Sr.
The family will be having a viewing and rosary on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Wilks Funeral Home in Chubbuck. There will be a celebration of life in the spring/summer of 2022.
