Michael Bennett Moses

November 4, 1934 — March 9, 2023

Michael “Mike” Bennett Moses (88) passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023, surrounded by the family he loved.

Mike was born on November 4, 1939, in Suffern, NY, the middle child to Dr. Maximillian Jeremiah Moses and Anna Lee Moses (née Bolton).

After high school, Mike joined the US Air Force and traveled the world. While stationed in England he met Sally Ann Smith. Mike & Sally married and moved to the US while Mike attended Albany State University and earned a BA in Business. They had two children, Cassandra Jane Shalom Moses, and Philip Jeffrey Moses. They returned to England where Mike worked for Burroughs Corporation until, after honing his sales skills, he landed at General Electric Company. While there, he developed a computerized box office system. He successfully sold the system to several theaters and sports clubs, including The National Theatre London, Chelsea FC and Fulham FC.

Never one to stand still, he moved the family north to Harrogate where he opened American ice cream parlors with 32 flavors, a concept new to the UK. Riding on the popularity of the parlors, he opened the Cattleman’s Association, a western style steak restaurant.

Following his divorce, Mike moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he met and married Mary Ann Moses and became the proud stepfather of David and Frank Martinez. In Tucson, he worked in real estate and created several land developments including Old Vail Village.

In 2004, Mike and Mary moved to Pocatello, where once again, unable to stand still, Mike held a myriad of part time jobs, including, but not limited to, delivering blood, driving a school bus, selling appliances at Sears and as a Bannock County Misdemeanor Probation Officer.

After finally retiring full time, Mike loved to watch his grandsons, Anthony and Andrew Martinez play baseball, football, basketball and soccer – rain or shine. Mike and Mary loved to cook together, travel and do a crossword puzzle.

Mike is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Cassandra Moses; son, Philip Moses; stepsons, David (JoAnn) Martinez and Frank (Mandy) Martinez; grandchildren, Anthony and Andrew Martinez and Brianna and Jacob Martinez; and brother, Steve Moses.
