Mianna Curtis

Mianna Farnes Curtis left the arms of her family early on January 13, 2020 due to complications of her battle with a rare cancer. She entered mortality November 21, 1987 in Rockville, Maryland. Her parents, Janna Haraszthy Farnes and Michael Edward Farnes, named her after her maternal grandmother and great- great-grandmother from Riga, Russia. "Ani" grew up in Pocatello, ID adored by her three older brothers, Jamie, Adam, and BJ and many, many dear friends. She graduated from Highland High School in 2006 and BYU-Idaho in 2014 with a bachelors in Art and Photography. In the interim, she worked to put herself through college, obtained an associates degree from ISU, and served a mission for the LDS church in the California Arcadia Mission. Most recently, she worked as a personal banker with Wells Fargo. The greatest blessing of her life was finding her true love, Kaden Bradley Curtis, and marrying him in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 27, 2018. Kadens parents, Brad and Kristi, and siblings: Mattison Harding and husband Cole, Bowen, Olivia, and Dane, enthusiastically welcomed Mianna into the Curtis-Parrish clan. Mianna and Kaden had a beautiful life together and even enjoyed opportunities to perform together at the Palace Playhouse. They welcomed their son, Samuel Bradley Curtis, on August 12th last year. However, Sam came twelve weeks early and fought his own rough battle. Three days after Mianna was diagnosed with cancer, little Sam was called home on October 17, 2019. Amidst that emotional trauma, his mothers physical torment commenced. In less than three months, spending half of that time in the Huntsman Cancer Center with her loving mother by her side, Mianna was also called home leaving a devastated husband. Tragedy and triumph hand-in-hand. And yet her rock of a husband gave her at the end of her short life the things she most desired and treasured: being a wife to her best friend and becoming a mother. Her whole family loves Kaden for this, more than words can express. Friends and family describe her with words such as kind, giving, dedicated, faithful, talented, beautiful, graceful, fun, smart, quick-witted, and as one who always brought laughter and peace while radiating her light. There exists an immeasurable hole in our hearts. However we know we will see her again. We pray that we all will continue to feel her love, example, and influence and that the Holy Ghost will comfort us as only He can. We welcome family and friends to a viewing Friday, January 17 th from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID, as well as a funeral Saturday, the 18 th at 11 am at the Chubbuck LDS Stake Center, 450 James Ave. Chubbuck, ID (by the Portneuf Library). In lieu of flowers, we invite donations to help Kaden cover the extensive medical bills. We sincerely thank everyone for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers during these most difficult times.
