Merten Frank Mitchell

Merten Frank Mitchell, 82, passed away on November 25, 2020.

Merten was born and raised on a farm in Boise, Idaho. He was in a children's home while his mom finished her education. Then, Merten was raised in a home of nine children, six brothers and three sisters.

He met and married Darla Kirkman when she was 19 on September 27, 1963 in the Logan, Utah Temple.

Merten loved bowling and spending time with his family. He was a coach and park president of the Bannock Boys Baseball program for ten years. He loved Boise State football and the Atlanta Braves Baseball. Merten worked at JR Simplots plant for 40 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Merten is survived by his daughter DeNae (Kevin) Hickman of Chubbuck, son Mike (Melissa) Mitchell of Idaho Falls, daughter DeNelle (Steven) Millward of Pocatello, brothers Willard, Bill, Glen, David, and Bob, as well as ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Darla, his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, two sisters, and one brother.

Private family services will be held.
