Merlin Jensen Harris December 31, 1927 March 8, 2018 Merlin Jensen Harris passed away peacefully in his home on the evening of March 8, 2018 at the age of 90. Merlin was born to George William Harris and Ida (Jensen) Harris on December 31, 1927 in Salem, Idaho. Merlin spent his early years farming and milking cows. He met his life-long love, Phyllis Elizabeth Neibaur, in 1946. After 2 years of dating, they were married In Logan, Utah on June 2, 1948. They had 6 children: Dan, Nanette, Scott, Brian, Casey and Suzanne over the next 22 years. Merlins life was spent farming, working with horses, fishing, and spending time with his family. He farmed with his father and brothers early in life and then on his own farm in American Falls for the better part of 40 years. After quitting farming, Merlin and Phyllis moved to Pocatello and opened a couple of different businesses before retiring. He lost his love in 2012 and moved in with his daughter, Suzanne and her family shortly thereafter, where he spent the remaining years of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents and most of his siblings. He is survived by one sister, Winona (Melvin) Bean; his children, Dan (Glenda) Harris, Nanette (Mike) Spangler, Scott Harris, Brian (Cindy) Harris, Casey (Alice) Harris and Suzanne (Rhett) Freeman; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave, Pocatello, at 2:00pm on Friday, March 16, 2018. There will be a viewing preceding the services at 1:00pm at the same location. He will be interred following the services at Falls View Cemetery in American Falls.
