Melodie Ann White

Melodie Ann Holmes White passed away on June 15, 2023, from residual complications after brain surgery. She was born (on Mother’s Day) May 10,1970 in Logan, Utah. Melodie, the first child of David Ervin Holmes and Cheryl Jean Coulam Holmes, was given her name because it was the only way her father could “carry a tune”. In 1988, she graduated high school from Minford High School in Minford, Ohio. She served in the West Virginia, Charleston mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from May 1991 – November 1992. While waiting for the bus one day, she met Troy Wilford White and they were later married in Rexburg, Idaho on September 14, 1999.

She has lived in many places, which include Hyrum, UT, Logan, UT, Murray, UT, Kearns, UT, Wheelersburg, OH, Pocatello, ID, Salt Lake City, UT, Idaho Falls, ID, Twin Falls, ID, Rexburg, ID, and hopefully we did not miss any.

Melodie was a kind-hearted, carefree, and loving person. She was a friend to everyone. She was always happy and willing to chat with anyone she met. She loved to do crafts of all kinds but, most of all, she loved to crochet. She has crocheted innumerable items for many people. Her projects varied from blankets and hot pads to elaborate dolls. She was a member of the local crochet club and loved to teach anyone who was willing how to crochet.

She loved anything to do with frogs and Disney movies. She always had her beloved Froggert, which is a stuffed animal she kept by her bed. Her favorite holiday was always Halloween (the cutesy version) for which she often crafted her own costume.

She is proceeded in death by her father David and mother-in-law Larane Jarvis White. She is survived by husband Troy; her mother Cheryl; brothers Jon (Tosha), Matt (Kathy), Michael, Nathan (Alex Tait); her father-in-law Arthur; brothers-in-law Jeff and Shawn (Wendy); and 14 nieces and nephews.

She will have a public viewing Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, ID and her funeral will be Friday 11:00 AM, June 30, 2023, at the Chubbuck 1st Ward building, 4775 Hawthorne Road, Chubbuck, ID. She will be interred in the Hyrum City cemetery at a later date.
