Melba Julia Bullock

Melba Julia Bullock, a longtime resident of Pocatello, Idaho, died at the young age of 99 on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at a local care center. Melba was born on December 19, 1916 in McCammon, ID to Carl and Evelyn Ehrnfelt where she grew up and attended school. During this time, Melba caught the eye of Edwin Kenneth Bullock. They were married in the Logan, Utah LDS temple on January 2, 1935. They subsequently had three daughters. Melba was a beautiful homemaker. She loved to sew and could sew anything. Melba worked hard cooking for hired hands on their farm for many years. She graduated from Grimms Business College and worked at Fargos, J.C. Penneys, Levines and Blocks. She loved fashion and always stood out with her beautiful clothes and white hair. She had many interests Member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Silver Chords and Silver Taps. She loved to paint and many people are blessed with her paintings. Dance was the love of her life. She and Ed were beautiful dancers together until Eds death. Then she was blessed with a dear friend and dance partner, Jimmy Angelos. They won many competitions at the Senior Games. Melba was very active in the LDS Church, holding many callings over the years. She is survived by one daughter, Eddy Davis (Jack); son-in-law, Richard Gunnell (Elaine); 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Nellie Ehrnfelt; husband, Edwin Bullock; 2 brothers, Wayne Hall, Dean Ehrnfelt; 2 daughters, Cheri Peterson (Brent - deceased), Karla Gunnell; and foster son, Leonard B. Miller. The family wishes to thank everyone who took care of mom at Caring Hearts and Encompass Home Health and Hospice. She loved every one of you. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11 am at the Gibson Jack Ward Chapel located at 8200 W. Portneuf Road Pocatello, ID 83204, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Norton Cemetery in McCammon, ID.
