Maxine Karna Mcune

Maxine McUne was born in Kaysville, Utah on January 15, 1938 to Rosco and Karna Phillips. She was the special one being the first born daughter with seven older brothers, later followed by her very dear sister Darlene.

Maxine was raised in American Falls, Idaho. In 1955 she graduated from Aberdeen High School.

After spending 10 years in Alaska she returned to Idaho and spent the rest of her life primarily in Downey.

Maxine married Jim Maxwell, who is the father of her six children. She married Larrell Caldwell (L.C. or Pops) and spent 13 years together. She then spent 8 years married to Mac McUne, whom she will lie next to in her final resting place.

When her brothers were in their prime, Mom enjoyed snow mobiling; camping with them. Maxine loved to crochet, cook, rug making, sewing, working on her photo albums and family history.

Maxine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Maxine is survived by her daughters Trisha Williamson, Jeanie Hutchins, Terrie Pinney, Marsha Lawton, and Teresa Steele; her sister Darlene Grimm; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her former husbands, Jim Maxwell, Larrell Caldwell and Mac McUne, her beloved and only son Wes Maxwell, parents Ross and Karna Phillips and brothers Roy, Dean, Earl, Glenn, Jay and Merlon.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 9:45 am prior to the service at Wilks Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 West Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, Idaho 83202. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 PM at the Downey City Cemetery.
