Maurice B. Murdock passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2015 at home with his loving family by his side. Maurice was born to Joe and Josephine Murdock in Heber City, Utah on December 31, 1930 where he lived until enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1948. Upon returning home, he met the love of his life, Colleen Lunt. They were married on January 1, 1951 and remained together until the time of his death. They raised five children, Marlow, Ronald, Sally, Darrell and Bill. They were married for 64 wonderful years. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah where he worked as an operating engineer until moving to Pocatello in 1975 where he opened Murdock and Walker Concrete Pumping with his two young sons, Darrell and Bill. He was a member of the LDS Church and he helped to open Mama Inez Restaurant in 1983 with his daughter, Sally, and son-in-law, Jim Gallegos. Maurice loved fishing, hunting, softball, bowling, and bar room dancing. He was the kindest, most generous husband, father, grandfather and friend that you could ever ask for and helped anyone in need. His warm smile, generous kindness, and infectious laughter will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Colleen Murdock; daughter, Sally (Scott) Horne; sons, Darrell Murdock, William "Bill" (Beth) Murdock, all of Pocatello, ID; daughter-in-law, Paula Murdock of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister, Connie Jines of Utah; brothers, J.R. (Dorothy) Murdock of Colorado, Brent Murdock, and Val (Joy) Murdock, both of Utah. He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Maurice is preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Lauanna Jines, Jane Jensen; 2 sons, Ronald Maurice Murdock, Marlow Maurice Murdock; and son-in-law, Jim Gallegos. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 2:30 PM at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 208-233-1500. Family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Citizens Community Bank, 2000 Flandro Drive, Chubbuck, ID 83202 to the Maurice Murdock benefit account in care of Darrell Murdock.
