Matthew Shawn Deppe

Matthew Shawn Deppe, 49, of Pocatello, passed away, February 11, 2022. 

On October 10th, 1972 in Portland, Oregon Matthew Shawn Deppe, or Shawn as he preferred to be called, was born to Lloyd and Vickie Deppe.

Shawn spent most of his early life in Portland, Oregon until the family relocated back to Pocatello. Shawn was a strong willed man who was as stubborn as an Ox. Anyone you ask would tell you if Shawn didn’t want to do it, there wasn’t anything you could say or do to change his mind.

On the outside he looked massive and intimidating with his giant muscles and tattoos, and was always the loudest person in the room,but anyone who knew him could tell you he was really a big softie. He was incredibly charismatic and could sell someone a boat in the middle of the desert with his charm. No one could tell a better story than Shawn, you never knew what he was going to say or how his stories were going to end. 

He was an avid motorcyclist and a talented glassblower. He had dreams to open his own glass blowing studio and spend his life exploring his creativity, and creating glass pieces. But out of all his various hobbies, dreams and goals, there was nothing Shawn loved more than his daughters.

Shawn is survived by his three Daughters Breanna Nicole, Madison Megan, and Alison Emily and by his two Grandsons, Malcolm Wesley and Thorin Alexander. He will be missed greatly by his loved ones and by everyone who was lucky enough to know him. 

A memorial service in Shawn's honor will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Rd, Chubbuck, ID.
