Matt Eric Christiansen

Matt Eric Christiansen, 50, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2019 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Matt was born in Downey, Idaho to Eric and Dianne Christiansen. Matt grew up in Soda Springs, Idaho and graduated from Soda Springs High School in 1987.

He was married to Stephanie on April Fool's Day in 1988. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on June 9, 1989.
Matt loved the mountains, hunting, camping and cooking hot dogs in the hills. He loved BYU football and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by: his wife, Stephanie Naef Christiansen; children, Matti Christiansen of Soda Springs; Taylie (Marcus) Steinfeld of Idaho Falls; Bridger Christiansen of Idaho Falls; brothers, Scott (Tanna) Christiansen of Soda Springs, and Darryl (Sudie) Humburg of Soda Springs; granddaughter, Marlie Rey Steinfeld; and father and mother-in-law, Larry & Lana Naef of North Fork, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Eric & Dianne Christiansen; brother, Justin Christiansen; grandparents, John & Lena Christiansen and Eugene & Lois Harris; great-nephew, Jeric Christiansen; great-niece, Dallas Christiansen; and uncle, Ron Guenther.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A viewing will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Wilks Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Friday. Interment will follow services on Friday in the Downey Cemetery.
