Mary Steiner

Mary Steiner, 65, of Pocatello, ID has finished her race surrounded by family and love on December 27, 2016. Born September 27 th In Ishikawa, Okinawa she moved to the states at the age of 5. Mary attended Burley High School graduating in 1970. She was the Bobcat Mascot and sang in the Burley Choir. She studied Nursing at Idaho State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, class of 1986. Mary worked as a Registered Nurse at Bannock Memorial Hospital in the ICU and at Portneuf Medical Center in the Cardiovascular Center. She also worked for home health and dialysis. Mary was a hard-nosed, strong, no-nonsense woman who put herself through nursing school and worked while raising four kids on her own to make her life and her childrens lives better. Mary was active in ISU Japan Club aka "ABC" Asian Beauty Club. She loved karaoke, playing the piano and guitar and for a short time was into motorcycle riding. She was a fan of her childrens football teams. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Terry J. Steiner. She is survived by her children, Marie Ellen Graf McBride (daughter), Janeen Emily Graf Emery (daughter), Valerie Elaine Graf Davis (daughter), Scott Graf (son); Miyoko Matsuda Verderber (mother); 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A viewing will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11 am, also at Colonial Funeral Home with a viewing from 9:45-10:30 am prior to services.
