Mary "Jane" Hawkes

April 29, 1939 — August 27, 2020

Mary Jane Hawkes, 81, of Pocatello, Idaho returned to her heavenly home on Thursday August 27, 2020.

Jane was born in Rupert, Idaho on April 29, 1939 to John "Doc" Stevenson and Mabel Mary Rader. She resided in Rupert until the family moved to Pocatello where she attended Pocatello High School. After graduating from Poky High she married her high school sweetheart Rodney K Smith December 7, 1957. She was the proud mother of three children. Kari Lyn, followed by Julie Kae, and Ryan Ray completing the family. The whole family was later sealed together on December 7, 1974 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Jane was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She fulfilled many callings and was an example of faith and love to many.

Jane and Rodney worked hard growing their RV business, Park-A-Way RV. Jane doing book work, together selling, and Rodney taking care of repairs. Jane lost Rodney in 1996 but continued to run the business with her son Ryan.

Three years later she married Wayne Hawkes. She retired from the business and she and Wayne took several trips and enjoyed going to the cabin in Island Park. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her husband Wayne, daughter Julie (Marty) Farmer of West Bountiful, UT; Son Ryan (Robyn) Smith of Pocatello, ID; Son in law Rick Call of Pocatello, ID; Brother David (Dana) Stevenson of Pocatello, ID; Step children Pam (John) Whiting; Debbie (Mike) Buchanan; Wayne Dee "Bud" (Susan) Hawkes and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jane is preceded in death by her husband Rodney, daughter Kari, parents, brother Steve and baby sister.

Our thanks and gratitude to all at Quail Ridge Assisted Living. You were all wonderful and we appreciate all you did for our mom.

Special thanks to Angie and all Caring Hearts caregivers. You loved and took exceptional care of our dear mother. Our family is so thankful for each and every one of you.

A graveside service will be held in Jane's honor at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S 5th Ave in Pocatello, Idaho.
