Mary Elizabeth Anderson

Mary Elizabeth Templeton Anderson, 94, passed away on December 19, 2023.

Mary was born in Echo, Louisiana on July 16, 1929, to Frank and Pearl Templeton. She went to school in New Mexico, and after graduating high school, she attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. It was there that she met her eternal sweetheart, Richard Anderson. They were married in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1949.

Later, they moved to Glendive, Montana where they opened a clothing store, “Andersons.” They were blessed with three children, Rodney, Cheri, and Kathy.

They served faithfully in many different callings and made many lifelong friends in Montana. In 1985, her husband passed away and she moved back to New Mexico to care for her parents. After living in New Mexico for 25 years, Mary moved back north to live with her daughter, Cheri in Chubbuck, Idaho.

Mary enjoyed traveling, sewing, painting, ceramics, soap operas, her dogs, and shopping, but most of all, she loved her family and the many friends who became family.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Cheri (Jeff) Johnson of Chubbuck, ID; Kathy (Myron) Bishop of Lander, WY; twenty grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick); her son, Rodney; her parents, and two grandsons, Ryan and Matthew.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the LDS Church located at 4600 Victory Ave, Chubbuck, Idaho, with a viewing for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive, Montana.
