Mary Elaine Crane Larson, 77, returned to her heavenly family August 25, 2017. Born on November 14, 1939 to Helen Katherine Anderson and Wendell Hiatt Crane, she was the oldest of five children; three girls and two boys. As a young girl, she attended school in Salt Lake City before her family returned to Pocatello where she graduated from Pocatello High School in 1958. She married Niel Larson March 15, 1958. They had 3 children. They moved to the McCammon area in 1961 and lived there until about 1991 when they moved to Pingree. They lived there for over 20 years returning to McCammon about 3 years ago. Elaine was mom to many not just her children. She was a Certified Nurses Aide for 30 years. She worked in several extended care facilities. She cared for elderly family members in her home and worked in home health care until she retired in 2008. She loved to make cookies with the grandkids, crochet, and paint pictures of her favorite things. She was an accomplished cake decorator and seamstress. Elaine and Niel were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity in 2010. In 2011 they served a mission for the LDS church in Nauvoo, IL. She is survived by her children, Judy (Jack) Foster, Shane (Cheryl) Larson and Kathy (J.C.) Poitra; sisters, Rae (Danny) Kiggins and, Vera Crane; brothers, Welden Crane and Arlen Crane; two sisters-in-law, Ann Larsen and Joyce McNeilly; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Niel; her parents; his parents; 2 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; and 1 great-grandchild. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 3 pm at the LDS Mt. View Ward Chapel, 403 W. 16 th St. McCammon, ID 83250, with a viewing for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at the Norton Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of Utah Attn: Pulmonary Research, 419 Wakara Way Suite 207 Salt Lake City, Utah 84108
