Mary Beth Collier

April 22, 1959 — October 11, 2014

Mary Beth Collier passed away peacefully in her sleep, October 11, 2014, in Aurora, CO, at the young age of 55. Born April 22, 1959 in Alice, Texas, Mary Beth was the youngest of nine siblings born to J.C. and Patricia Sue Collier, who throughout her life kept her optimistic adventurous spirit by following her young heart instead of the old rules, and, by mastering the art of reinvention while staying true to her inner moral compass, that love is the greatest virtue of all. Even though she lived in Texas, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, and most recently in Colorado, there were constants in her multi-faceted life; they were her love and devotion to her children, grandchildren, and birth family, and, a deep yearning for inspiring and spreading loving hope and healing connections through her ever-growing community of dear friends and highly professional fellow massage therapists and students. Both personally and professionally by training, Mary Beth's passion was to be a healer of body and spirit and to teach both in theory and by example. Mary Beth will be remembered for her love of nature, her passion for cooking, photography, and the inspirational music she sang and played on her clarinet.

She is survived by her six children: Brant (Olivia) Jarrett, Janette (Matt) Lovell, Kristen (Josh) Hanneman, Kimberly (Stephen) Bennett, Patricia (Cristopher) Martin, and Bryce Jarrett, her 16 grandchildren who called her Nana, her mother, Patricia Sue Collier; and 6 siblings, Joel Collier, Caren Collier, Fay Kelle, Kay Henderson, Patricia Smith, and Herbert Collier. She was preceded in death by her father, J.C. Collier, a sister, Paula Smith, and a brother, Anthony Collier.

Mary Beth's most valuable, meaningful, and powerful legacy is that of being kind to everyone she came in contact with, as all things are spiritually connected. May her legacy live on through all of us as she rests in peace, embraced in all the love she freely gave throughout her mortal life.
